老外都拿VPS干什么?

很多人买VPS的目的就是为了****不可告人目的!实际上,VPS能干的活可多了,只是做网站?虚拟主机足以,还不用操心系统出问题.

我深潜LowEndTalk分析他们买VPS的动机,其中一大部分人的想法是,也就一杯咖啡的钱,买了就买了,闲置了.

也有打算用来安装一些在线代理之类的脚本,然后用来赚钱的,不过这个不可取哈,很多VPS提供商是禁止公开代理的.而且很可能接受大量国人的... 你懂的.

well on my 32MB VPS i'm running mocks server, teamspeak 3 server, apache, dropbox to sync the apps across other servers and my laptop for easily changing config files.

也有用于做备份服务器的,文件服务器的,但是这些也可以通过购买网络对象储存来得到,而且更安全.

From what I've seen, the majority of our clients that have them use them for DNS, VPNs, testing scripts, and learning (the beauty of linux is you only need about 12MB to play around with command line for most distros). I personally use only our 32MB plans for my personal use because I love seeing how "lean" I can run my Linux. It's a mindset I think because as it stands right now the most powerful CPU I'll ever own for personal use is an Atom.

有搭建DNS服务器,用于广告过滤啊,匿名用途的VPN这些也有.

I got the idea on irc today to do bitcoin mining ( only to see if it worked ) but Damian said it was against their aup/tos

I was JUST thinking to make a post of it... i was bored a little bit, so I installed qemu and put.. Windows 3.11 ! hahaha

也有主要做网站的,但是真心做网站不如虚拟主机来的好.

because its fastor to install things to a VPS rather than my own local.

让VPS拉取资源确实是个玩法,而且VPS拉取起来速度确实更快.

还有用于搭建邮件服务器的,在国外免费企业(域名)邮箱很少,自己做呢有风险,但是确实也是个好主意.

据说还有买VPS为了DD别人?这是报仇啊,同样违反AUP/TOS的,不要乱尝试.

老外也有代理用途,不过可就明文多了.

还有各种用途,比如Teamspeak服务器,游戏服务器等都有,总体来说,吃灰备份的较多(所以流量也是远远用不完,利用率还没****国人高),其次做网站的,测试脚本的居多.
